SPEED DATE é um espectáculo teatral de escolha múltipla, uma instalação labiríntica, uma performance imersiva. Cada espetador vai passar por uma série de curtos encontros com outros espetadores e com performers, e em cada um destes encontros vai receber fragmentos de uma narrativa não-linear, que caminha nas mais diversas direções no tempo e no espaço resultando num guião pessoal e irrepetível para cada espetador. A separação entre real e ficção dilui-se, dando a impressão de que todos fazem parte de uma mesma história, repleta de repetições e distorções, esquecimentos e descobertas, becos sem saída e passagens secretas, como um passeio pela sala de espelhos de um parque de diversões. Uma história comum, compartilhada por todos.
À semelhança de outros trabalhos de Alex Cassal que investem em formatos não-tradicionais de construção de narrativa, como Tiranossauro Rex (TNDMII, 2017) e Morrer no Teatro (Teatro do Bairro Alto, 2019), este é um projecto que explora o desvendamento dos mecanismos cénicos e a relação direta com o espetador.
Alex Cassal convidou para este projeto três criadores que transitam entre o teatro, a dança e a performance: a coreógrafa portuguesa Márcia Lança, o encenador brasileiro Renato Linhares e a dramaturga brasileira residente em Portugal, Keli Freitas. Juntos vão imaginar um espetáculo composto de encontros breves e fecundos entre performers e espetadores.

SPEED DATE is a multiple choice theatrical show, a labyrinth installation and an immersive performance. Each spectator will go through a series of short meetings with other spectators and performers, and in each of these meetings he will receive fragments of a non-linear narrative, which moves in the most diverse directions in time and space, resulting in a personal and unrepeatable script for each spectator. The separation between what is real and fiction is blurred, giving the impression that they are all part of the same story, full of repetitions and distortions, forgetfulness and discoveries, dead ends and secret passages, like walking through the mirror room of an amusement park. And in each of these meetings they will receive fragments of a common story, shared by all.
Like other works by Alex Cassal that invest in non-traditional narrative construction formats, such as "Tyrannosaurus Rex" (TNDMII, 2017) and "Morrer no Teatro" (Teatro do Bairro Alto, 2019), this is a project that explores the unveiling of scenic mechanisms and the direct relationship with the viewer.
Alex Cassal invited three creators to this project who move between theatre, dance and performance: the Portuguese choreographer Márcia Lança, the Brazilian director Renato Linhares and the Brazilian playwright residing in Portugal, Keli Freitas. Together they will imagine a show composed of brief and fruitful meetings between performers and spectators.
