Alongside the festival and its activities, the international creation lab Linha de Fuga will take place.

Conceived as a field for experimentation, learning, and sharing of collective knowledge, it promotes a meeting between 15 creators, artists and thinkers from different origins in the city of Coimbra, to exercise critical thinking and analysis of the concept of "care".

These artists were selected from an international call (with about 100 applications), through artistic projects that are in different stages but that propose ways of relating to the city and the proposed concepts. The lab allows, on one hand, the development of personal creative processes and investigations, followed by the personal critical eye of Thiago Granato, co-curator of the festival, who accompanies and questions individually the selected artists and projects. But he also embraces the presence of other festival artists for individual conversations, as well as promoting interaction with their peers.

Benefiting precisely from this presence of artists from the festival, two workshops will be developed, to which only the artists from the lab can have access, with the intent to confront them with different artistic practices: Workshop Dis/orienting Front by Chrysa Parkison, Workshop Z0NA by Cristian Duarte (BR). Over the course of a week, Cristian Duarte will share procedures that he has been collecting from experiences in creating contexts for experimentation in dance, such as the “Lote” project, the “Desaba” platform, and the “APT?” camp. He intends to facilitate a meeting that brings out the issues that vibrate in our subjectivities nowadays and, based on them, collectively create a practice, actions or some other type of mobilization that can materialize our questions and/or concerns.

Within the collective thinking process, the artists are also invited to exercise and share with the public and their peers the reflections and transformations of their research developed during the three weeks, with the main intention of exploring different ways of communicating creation processes in development, of mutually informing the artist and the public about what has been worked on in this context.

These presentations will take place on 1st, 2nd, and 5th of October. Stay tuned!
