Solveig Rocher é bailarina, coreógrafa e artista franco-britânica, nascida em Montreal (1994) e residente em Marselha. Estudou ilustração em Londres (Camberwell College of Arts). Realizou mestrado em performance no Porto (ESMAE), com foco em sistemas de arquivo in-corporados. Solveig desenha sistematicamente seus movimentos. Brincando com o que é visivel e invisivel, as suas danças convidam a ver a própria criação.A sua prática, marcada por uma estética minimalista, é feita de repetição e esquecimento.
Em Portugal, apresentou as suas performances no Museu de Arte Contemporânea de São João da Madeira, na Bienal de Cerveira, no Festival Internacional de Marionetas do Porto, na galeria Mira|Artes performativas e no Teatro Municipal do Porto, Rivoli. Entre 2019 e 2020, é artista associada da companhia de teatro Visões Úteis. Em 2020, adquire o status de Artista-Arquivista em residência no Teatro Municipal do Porto, onde apresenta, em Janeiro de 2021, a coleção de performances ("The Residual Pieces") resultante desse ano de residência. Em Marselha, colaborou com o artista Niccolò Moscatelli na performance para espaço público "Rozel" e com o artista e ilustrador científico Arthur de Carvalho Wandeur na instalação multimídia "La Vague". Em 2022, apresenta "Naked Constructions", um solo dançado, cantado e falado sobre a construção de um solo dançado, cantado e falado.

Solveig Rocher is a French-British dancer, choreographer and artist, born in Montreal (1994) and residing in Marseille. She studied illustration in London (Camberwell College of Arts). She completed a master's degree in performance in Porto (ESMAE), focusing on embedded file systems. Solveig systematically designs your movements. Playing with what is visible and invisible, her dances invite you to see your own creation. Her practice, marked by a minimalist aesthetic, is made of repetition and forgetting. In Portugal, she presented her performances at the São João da Madeira Museum of Contemporary Art, at the Cerveira Biennale, at the Porto International Puppet Festival, at the gallery Mira | Performing Arts and at the Teatro Municipal do Porto, Rivoli. Between 2019 and 2020, she was an associate artist at the theater company Visões Úteis. In 2020, she acquired the status of Artist-Archivist in residence at Teatro Municipal do Porto, where she presented, in January 2021, the collection of performances ("The Residual Pieces") resulting from this year of residency. In Marseille, she collaborated with the artist Niccolò Moscatelli on the public space performance "Rozel" and with the artist and scientific illustrator Arthur de Carvalho Wandeur on the multimedia installation "La Vague". Solveig tem pensado em pássaros e já há um tempo que o faz. Durante o confinamento, aprendeu os nomes de todos os pássaros que passaram à frente da sua janela. Aprendeu os seus hábitos, a reconhecê-los pelo voo, pelo canto e pelos padrões das suas penas. Pensou mesmo que talvez quisesse ser um pássaro, desviando-se correndo caindo pairando subindo. O que a fascina ao vê-los voar é que parece que estão constantemente à beira de cair e se eles caírem, sabemos que podem morrer. Enquanto esperava que as suas roupas se lavassem, na lavanderia, leu um dia que pular é o ato de desafio contra a gravidade e, portanto, pode ser a forma mais próxima dos humanos serem pássaros.
