No âmbito do processo de criação de SOUVENIR, o artista Tiago Cadete encontra-se à procura de pessoas que emigraram para França nas décadas de 1960 e 1970, com o objetivo de aprofundar o conhecimento sobre esse percurso migratório.
Nesse período, muitos portugueses partiram “a salto”, atravessando fronteiras de forma clandestina; outros emigraram com documentação regularizada. Em comum, havia quase sempre a esperança de uma vida melhor. SOUVENIR pretende escutar essas histórias na primeira pessoa: compreender como aconteceram e de que forma marcaram a vida de quem as viveu.
As entrevistas serão conversas privadas, conduzidas com o rigor ético indispensável a um projeto de investigação artística desta natureza. Para além de integrarem o processo de criação do espetáculo, serão também gravadas para o podcast Arquivo Souvenir, contribuindo para preservar e partilhar estas narrativas.

As part of the creative process of SOUVENIR, the artist Tiago Cadete is seeking people who emigrated to France in the 1960s and 1970s, with the aim of deepening understanding of that migratory journey.
During that period, many Portuguese people left “a salto”, crossing borders clandestinely; others emigrated with regularised documentation. What they almost always shared was the hope of a better life. SOUVENIR aims to listen to these stories first-hand: to understand how they unfolded and how they shaped the lives of those who experienced them.
The interviews will take the form of private conversations, conducted with the ethical rigour essential to an artistic research project of this nature. In addition to informing the creation of the performance, they will also be recorded for the Arquivo Souvenir podcast, contributing to the preservation and sharing of these narratives.
