Malu Patury is a dance artist, teacher, and researcher, born in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and living in Coimbra (Portugal). Trained in classical dance and Brazilian ballroom dance, she combines artistic practice with an academic trajectory in Dance History, Dance Anthropology/Ethnochoreology, and Curatorship. In addition to teaching dance to diverse audiences, she develops original projects and collaborates on independent creations, often focusing on research that crosses body, gender, and choreographic relationships in partner dances. Between 2023 and 2024, she participated in the “Corpo-Território” training promoted by Linha de Fuga. In the following year, during the 4th edition of the festival, she presented her creation (in partnership with artist Thales Luz), Rasgar a Noite – a work reflecting on the structural misogyny of dance.
