Fazer um solo que fosse um abstracionismo lírico.
Mas este corpo é forma humana e, em palco, figurativo dessa forma. Mesmo sendo figurativo — nesse sentido que representa — pode, como exercício, compor-se de movimentos, como que um abstracionismo lírico. Ou será antes um figurativismo estilizado?

Quando figurativo, o que antes era abstrato deixa de o ser. E imediatamente se lhe acrescenta logo outra coisa (corrente).
Uma pessoa, só, em cima de um palco, dificilmente foge a não o ser… mas será que está aqui mais alguém? Há tanto tempo que aqui estou. O que é isto? O que são estas coisas? Ah! Sou eu! Estou onde? Estou presa neste sítio. Serão (correntes)?
Para Tânia Carvalho, o ato criativo é algo que surge como um ímpeto, algo instintivo até, e é quando a artista cria para si mesma que atinge a plenitude da dança. Os movimentos surgem e Tânia entrega-se a eles, deixando o corpo fluir ao ritmo que eles pedem, quase automático, quase como se não fizesse nada. Para Tânia Carvalho não existe uma explicação, apenas a interpretação. Nua e crua. Uma das coreógrafas mais interessantes da sua geração, Tânia foi influência para artistas como Marlene Freitas, Luís Guerra e Lander Patrick. A sua linguagem especial e única faz deste solo um espaço de reflexão sobre a solidão, o sofrimento e a incapacidade do indivíduo em reagir a estímulos negativos. Mas é também um espaço de metamorfose e de esperança, algo que Tânia constrói com toda a sua intuição.
Take a solo that was lyrical abstractionism. But, this body is a human form, and hence figurative on stage. Even though it is figurative – in the sense that it represents – it can, as an exercise, be composed of movements as if lyrical abstractionism. Or is it rather a stylized figurativism? (A solo between lyrical abstractionism and figurativism). If figurative, what was previously abstract ceases to be so. And immediately something else is added (current). A person, alone, on a stage, runs hard unless she is ... but is someone else here? I've been here for so long. What is this? What are these things? Ah! It's me! Where am I? I'm stuck in this place. Are these (chains)?
For Tânia Carvalho, the creative act is something that emerges as an impetus, even instinctive, and it is when the artist creates for herself that she reaches the fullness of the dance. The movements appear and Tânia gives herself to them, letting the body flow at the pace they ask, almost automatically, almost as if doing nothing. For the creator there is no explanation, only interpretation. Naked and raw.
One of the most interesting choreographers of her generation, Tânia was an influence for artists such as Marlene Freitas, Luís Guerra and Lander Patrick.
Her special and unique language makes this solo a space for reflection on loneliness, suffering and the individual's inability to react to negative stimuli. But it is also a space of metamorphosis and hope, something that Tânia builds with all her intuition.
