This is the first residency of the Contra|O|Tempo 2023/24 residencies program.
On the 9th, at 5 pm, we open the doors of the work process of Margarida Cabral and Francisco Correia in a new residence space, in Bruscos, where the two artists have been working on their artistic research project, inspired by the Moiras of Greek mythology.
This creation works on time, life, death and manipulation. It is a process of collecting memories and stories combined with the act of sewing and sound composition. Margarida brings to the scene the practice of sewing, a meditative and solitary process, transforming it into an artistic and performative practice. It starts with the use of objects, normally present in a sewing workshop, for the materialization and transformation of the scene space. Alongside Margarida is Francisco, who develops a sound composition in real time, based on the sounds of the space itself, the movements of the performer and the machines.
Admission is free.
