Presentation Journal Coreia #10 + performance by Bibi Dória

As usual, Coimbra is once again one of the locations of the national tour for the launch of Coreia, the only national publication dedicated to dance. Linha de Fuga hosts this initiative, on March 3rd, at 4pm at the Salganho Zenha Auditorium, together with the performance “Nome de Filme” by Bibi Dória. Entry is free.

On March 3rd, Sunday, at 4pm, Linha de Fuga will host the launch of the newspaper Coreia#10 in Coimbra. As in other sessions, in addition to the conversation about the presentation of the publication's main articles, one of the artists involved in each edition is invited to participate in this presentation. In this case, Bibi Dória, who was also one of the participants in the Linha de Fuga 2022 Laboratory.

Coreia is a publication of an experimental, critical and discursive nature regarding the arts in general, established in an umbilical relationship with dance. Published every six months, the newspaper aims to be an independent and internationalist forum based on issues, works and artists, concerned with disseminating various formats in the Portuguese language.

For the launch of Coreia #10, we have a presentation by the editorial team (João dos Santos Martins and Clara Amaral) and the performance Nome de Filme, by Bibi Dória. It is a performance of memory and narration of a fiction film from beginning to end. The  film is Copacabana Mon Amour, directed by Rogerio Sganzerla and filmed in Rio de Janeiro in 1970. Copacabana Mon Amour was not released commercially due to censorship imposed by the military dictatorship. Its original negatives were restored in 2013 after an advanced state of deterioration and, currently, its preservation copy is in the Cinemateca Brasileira, which was set on fire in 2021. Located at the crossroads between performance and cinema, Nome de Filme proposes the experience of watching a film where the projection is made by the memory of whoever tells it.
