Developed in the context of the Linha de Fuga Festival in 2024, with plants and people from Coimbra, at the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra, Mistura#8 was an immersive experience proposing a sensitive drift among plants, paths, and presences, activating the space as a territory of listening, relation, and transformation.
That year, Linha de Fuga invited choreographer Carlota Lagido, also a costume designer and skilled at capturing sensitive images, to photograph this project. Her photographs, gathered in this exhibition, capture moments when the body merges with the world – when touch, listening, and movement allow it to become flower, plant, shadow, or breeze.
Mistura stages rituals between humans and plants, evoking an imaginary of futures woven from ecological, affective, and collective values, created together with the inhabitants of each city where it takes place. In Coimbra, Marina Guzzo carried out the eighth experience of this project and reinvented herself in dialogue with the garden, its cycles, textures, and living stories. Drawing from a vast vegetal repertoire, participants adorned themselves with leaves, flowers, branches, and fruits, creating hybrid, poetic, and unstable figures. With costume contributions from Lia Damasceno, these composed and enchanted creatures emerge as gestures of care and shared presence.
This exhibition is an invitation to extend that vegetal time: the time to merge with and be with the world.
