Continuamos a falar do que significa ser artista convidando artistas da dança contemporânea. Desta vez, vamos além mar e conversamos com a brasileira Marina Guzzo, artista e pesquisadora, antes da inauguração da sua exposição Mistura#8 no Jardim Botânico da Universidade de Coimbra. Marina tem focado a sua pesquisa sobre crise climática, antropoceno e desenvolvido práticas de interseção destas áreas com a arte.
A sua exposição Mistura#8 traz consigo estas práticas, onde o ritmo e a relação não hierárquica entre humanos e plantas se desenvolve como um ato político e artístico.
O que me faz artista é uma rúbrica de conversas desenvolvido por Linha de Fuga onde se conversa com artistas sobre o seu percurso, com o intuito de humanizar a criação artística e demonstrar todo o trabalho, dúvidas e questões que um artista se coloca ao criar.

We continue to reflect on what it means to be an artist by inviting contemporary dance artists to share their perspectives. This time, we cross the ocean to talk with Brazilian artist and researcher Marina Guzzo, ahead of the opening of her exhibition Mistura#8 at the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra. Marina’s research has focused on the climate crisis and the Anthropocene, developing practices at the intersection of these fields with art.
Her exhibition Mistura#8 embodies these practices, where rhythm and the non-hierarchical relationship between humans and plants unfold as both a political and artistic act.
What Makes Me an Artist? is a conversation series developed by Linha de Fuga, in which artists discuss their journeys, with the aim of humanising artistic creation and revealing the work, questions, and uncertainties that arise in the process of making art.
