Ao longo da vida de uma proposta artística, é essencial promover encontros, nos mais variados momentos, dimensões, geografias e cruzamentos entre as pessoas que a vão integrando, sendo para tal muito importante “estar no meio”, ou mediar. Existe uma vastidão de possibilidades (e, por vezes, desencontros!) entre o que pensamos que queremos, o que nos parece que outras pessoas querem e o que essas pessoas acham que nós queremos... Como “a conversar é que a gente se entende” e “perguntar não ofende”, o desafio desta oficina será precisamente o de desenvolvermos, conjuntamente, várias atividades que nos permitirão exercitar a arte de perguntar, como coreografia de aproximação aos lugares dos outros, e descobrir pontos de confluência e/ou interseção, que proporcionarão o mapeamento de lugares (in)comuns no cenário de determinado projeto artístico.
Maria Eduarda Duarte
Coimbra, 1986. Mestre em Estudos Curatoriais pelo Colégio das Artes da Universidade de Coimbra em 2015 e em Arquitetura pelo Departamento de Arquitetura da FCTUC em 2011. Desde 2015 que desenvolve trabalho em áreas tão distintas como o desenho expositivo, produção cultural, curadoria, mediação e comunicação em vários projetos nacionais e europeus. Integrou a equipa do Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra onde foi produtora de exposições na primeira bienal “Anozero: Bienal de Arte Contemporânea de Coimbra” e organizou a oficina de verão para crianças intitulada "Tantas Cidades!". Desde 2017 que colabora frequentemente com a Fundação de Serralves na área do desenho expositivo, também aí coordenou em 2023 a exposição "Not Post-Modernism. Dan Graham e a Arquitetura do Século XX". Entre 2017 e 2022 foi assistente de produção e comunicação do projeto “4Cs: From Conflict to Conviviality through Creativity and Culture”, projeto financiado pela Comissão Europeia liderado pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa juntamente com sete parceiros europeus. Entre 2019 e 2021 foi investigadora e produtora de 19 visitas-performativas no território da Comunidade Intermunicipal da Região de Coimbra em colaboração com a Talkie-Walkie e Leonor Barata. Em 2024 integrou a equipa do festival e laboratório de artes performativas Linha de Fuga como mediadora artística e de comunicação. Desde 2025 que faz parte do projeto "Institution(ing)s", um projeto europeu que incentiva as organizações de arte e cultura contemporâneas a cocriar modelos institucionais inovadores que, através da experimentação, cocriação, especulação e defesa de futuros sustentáveis, contribuam para a inclusão social, transformação ambiental, económica e artística.

Throughout the life of an artistic proposal, it is essential to foster encounters at various moments, across different dimensions, geographies, and intersections between the people involved. For this to happen, being "in the middle", or mediating, is key.
There exists a vast range of possibilities (and, at times, misunderstandings!) between what we think we want, what we believe others want, and what those others think we want… Since “we understand each other by talking” and “asking never hurts,” the challenge of this workshop will be precisely to develop, together, several activities that will allow us to practice the art of asking—as a kind of choreography of approaching others’ perspectives—and to discover points of convergence and/or intersection. This will enable the mapping of (un)common grounds within the framework of a given artistic project.
Maria Eduarda Duarte
Coimbra, 1986. She holds a Master’s degree in Curatorial Studies from the College of Arts at the University of Coimbra (2015) and in Architecture from the Department of Architecture at FCTUC (2011). Since 2015, she has worked in diverse areas such as exhibition design, cultural production, curatorship, mediation, and communication in various national and European projects.
She was part of the team at Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra, where she worked as exhibition producer for the first edition of Anozero: Biennial of Contemporary Art of Coimbra, and organized the children’s summer workshop Tantas Cidades!. Since 2017, she has regularly collaborated with the Serralves Foundation in exhibition design, and in 2023 she coordinated the exhibition Not Post-Modernism. Dan Graham and the Architecture of the 20th Century.
Between 2017 and 2022, she was production and communication assistant for the project 4Cs: From Conflict to Conviviality through Creativity and Culture, funded by the European Commission and led by Universidade Católica Portuguesa with seven other European partners. From 2019 to 2021, she worked as researcher and producer of 19 performative visits across the territory of the Intermunicipal Community of the Coimbra Region, in collaboration with Talkie-Walkie and Leonor Barata.
In 2024, she joined the team of the Linha de Fuga's festival and performing arts laboratory as an artistic and communication mediator. Since 2025, she has been part of Institution(ing)s, a European project that encourages contemporary art and culture organizations to co-create innovative institutional models that, through experimentation, co-creation, speculation, and the advocacy of sustainable futures, contribute to social inclusion and environmental, economic, and artistic transformation.
