IN THE NAME OF DARKNESS, MAGIC AND VULNERABILITY/EM NOME DA ESCURIDÃO, DA MAGIA E DA VULNERABILIDADE é um projeto de coreografia, som e escrita que convida a imaginar para além do que vemos. Parte da escuridão - física e simbólica - como um lugar onde podem nascer novos futuros e possibilidades.
O trabalho propõe abrandar e prestar atenção ao que normalmente passa despercebido: o escuro, as pausas, o invisível. Ao dar espaço ao acaso e ao inesperado, procura tornar visível aquilo que habitualmente não vemos, abrindo novas formas de sentir e compreender.
É também um convite a um exercício coletivo de reencantamento - a recuperar a capacidade de imaginar e transformar a realidade em conjunto. Através do encontro entre movimento, som e imaginação, explora-se a natureza mutável e fluida da existência, incluindo as suas dimensões mais livres, instáveis e não normativas, uma experiência imersiva e participativa, construída em conjunto com o público. Ao longo da performance, cria-se uma atmosfera próxima de uma psicadelia suave: uma sensação de transformação contínua, onde histórias, movimentos e relações aparecem, desaparecem e se alteram. É como observar algo que acontece em segredo - uma espécie de festa invisível - mas ao mesmo tempo sentir os seus efeitos: mudança, mistura, aproximação, estranheza, beleza.
Ao incluir tudo o que está presente - pessoas, espaço, acontecimentos - o projeto pensa a dança como um lugar onde tudo pode acontecer e transformar-se através da relação.
IN THE NAME OF DARKNESS, MAGIC AND VULNERABILITY is a project combining choreography, sound and writing that invites us to imagine beyond what we see. It takes darkness—both physical and symbolic—as a place where new futures and possibilities can emerge.
The work invites us to slow down and pay attention to what usually goes unnoticed: the dark, the pauses, the invisible. By making space for chance and the unexpected, it seeks to make visible what we do not usually see, opening up new ways of feeling and understanding.
It is also an invitation to a collective exercise in re-enchantment - to recover the capacity to imagine and transform reality together. Through the encounter between movement, sound and imagination, the work explores the mutable and fluid nature of existence, including its freer, more unstable and non-normative dimensions, an immersive and participatory experience, constructed together with the audience. Throughout the performance, an atmosphere akin to a gentle psychedelia is created: a sense of continuous transformation, where stories, movements and relationships appear, disappear and shift. It is like observing something happening in secret - a sort of invisible party - yet simultaneously feeling its effects: change, blending, closeness, strangeness, beauty.
By incorporating everything that is present - people, space, events - the project conceives of dance as a place where anything can happen and be transformed through interaction.
