Animais Paisagens e Santos é um projecto de investigação artística que parte da pergunta: o que é – ou pode ser – um santo hoje? Esta questão, inspirada por uma citação de Simone Weil – “Hoje ser santo não basta. É preciso a santidade que o momento presente exige, uma santidade nova, também ela sem precedentes” –, funciona como ponto de partida para uma reflexão sobre formas de resistência ética, espiritual e comunitária perante as múltiplas crises do nosso tempo: ecológicas, sociais, afectivas e políticas. O projecto inscreve-se numa prática artística transdisciplinar que cruza conferências-performativas, escrita, cerâmica, desenho e instalação, investigando os modos como o animal humano e não-humano, o sagrado, e o território se cruzam, no passado e no presente, nas formas de existência e de criação.

Animals, Landscapes and Saints is an artistic research project that begins with the question: what is – or can be – a saint today? This question, inspired by a quote from Simone Weil – “Today, it is not enough to be a saint. We need the holiness that the present moment demands, a new holiness, itself unprecedented” – serves as a starting point for a reflection on forms of ethical, spiritual and communal resistance in the face of the multiple crises of our time: ecological, social, emotional and political. The project forms part of a transdisciplinary artistic practice that combines performative lectures, writing, ceramics, drawing and installation, investigating the ways in which human and non-human animals, the sacred, and territory intersect, in the past and present, in forms of existence and creation.
