Na quinta-feira, dia 14 de Março, pelas 18h na Rádio Baixa ou por streaming no facebook de Linha de Fuga, o público é convidado a assistir e participar numa conversa entre a artista em residência Marta Blanco, e o sociólogo e investigador Cristiano Gianolla. Num dispositivo simples de participação com algumas regras de etiqueta que ativam a escuta, ambos abordam os seus pontos de vista sobre populismos, sociedades controladas, crises de coletivos/comunidades.
Mote da Conversa: O projeto deste coletivo tem como referência o filme de Godard, Alphaville, uma cidade futurista onde o computador Alpha 60 gere a sociedade e aboliu os sentimentos humanos para um maior controle. O projeto parte de elementos da natureza para construir universos distópicos que reflitam sobre a sociedade atual e os desafios que enfrentamos através da poesia visual. As artistas pretendem refletir sobre a sociedade atual, a perda da democracia, a crise ambiental, o desaparecimento das lutas comunitárias. O mar transformou-se em uma plasticosfera que conseguiu penetrar nas membranas dos nossos cérebros. Vivemos em trânsito entre o rural e o virtual. Vivemos no pós-capitalismo.
Estamos sendo moldados para sermos capazes de seguir as regras mais autoritárias sem reagir, sem ser espontâneos, agradecendo a simplicidade de não ter que pensar ou sentir?
«Conversas com a Academia» é uma iniciativa de Linha de Fuga que promove um diálogo entre investigações académicas e artísticas, em colaboração com o Observatório Masculinidades do Centro de Estudos Sociais da Universidade de Coimbra.
Cristiano Gianolla
Investigador do Centro de Estudos Sociais (CES) da Universidade de Coimbra (UC), onde integra a linha temática de investigação sobre Democracia, Justiça e Direitos Humanos. Doutorou-se em Sociologia e Ciência Política (cum Laude, Coimbra e Roma-Sapienza) através de uma dissertação sobre a teoria democrática de Gandhi e de um estudo comparativo dos partidos políticos emergentes na Índia e em Itália. Cristiano é o Investigador Principal do projeto UNPOP (FCT, 2021-2024) e PI e WP leader dos projectos PROTEMO (HEU, 2024-2026) e CO3 (HEU, 2024-2027). Foi membro da equipa dos projetos ECHOES (H2020, 2018-2021), ALICE (ERC, 2011-2016) e FRANET (2021-2022). É membro cofundador e co-coordenador do "Inter-Thematic group on Migrations" e co-coordena o programa de investigação "Epistemologies of the South" no CES. É editor coordenador do Alice News, editor da revista científica Ee-cadernos e revisor de revistas científicas. Ao nível doutoral Cristiano é coordena a unidade curricular (u.c.) "Teorias e Instituições Democráticas", e leciona na u.c. "Estado, Democracia e Pluralismo Jurídico". Também leciona a u.c."Diálogo Intercultural Crítico" no mestrado em Sociologia da Faculdade de Economia da UC. As suas publicações incluem livros, capítulos e artigos de sua autoria e organizados sobre teoria democrática, populismo, emoção, narrativa, pós-colonialismo, diálogo intercultural, cidadania e migrações.
On Thursday, March 14th, at 6pm on Rádio Baixa or via streaming on Linha de Fuga's Facebook page, the public is invited to watch and participate in a conversation between the artist in residence Marta Blanco, and the sociologist and researcher Cristiano Gianolla. In a simple participation device with some rules of etiquette that activate listening, both discuss their points of view on populism, controlled societies, collective/community crises.
Conversation Motto: This collective's project is based on Godard's film, Alphaville, a futuristic city where the Alpha 60 computer manages society and abolished human feelings for greater control. The project uses elements of nature to build dystopian universes that reflect on current society and the challenges we face through visual poetry. The artists intend to reflect on current society, the loss of democracy, the environmental crisis, the disappearance of community struggles. The sea became a plasticosphere that managed to penetrate the membranes of our brains. We live in transit between the rural and the virtual. We live in post-capitalism.
Are we being shaped to be able to follow the most authoritarian rules without reacting, without being spontaneous, grateful for the simplicity of not having to think or feel?
«Conversations with the Academy» is a Linha de Fuga initiative that promotes a dialogue between academic and artistic investigations, in collaboration with the Masculinities Observatory of the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra.
Cristiano Gianolla
Researcher at the Center for Social Studies (CES) at the University of Coimbra (UC), where he integrates the thematic line of research on Democracy, Justice and Human Rights. He received his doctorate in Sociology and Political Science (cum Laude, Coimbra and Roma-Sapienza) through a dissertation on Gandhi's democratic theory and a comparative study of emerging political parties in India and Italy. Cristiano is the Principal Investigator of the UNPOP project (FCT, 2021-2024) and PI and WP leader of the PROTEMO (HEU, 2024-2026) and CO3 (HEU, 2024-2027) projects. He was a team member of the ECHOES (H2020, 2018-2021), ALICE (ERC, 2011-2016) and FRANET (2021-2022) projects. He is a co-founding member and co-coordinator of the "Inter-Thematic group on Migrations" and co-coordinates the research program "Epistemologies of the South" at CES. He is coordinating editor of Alice News, editor of the scientific magazine Ee-cadernos and reviewer of scientific journals. At the doctoral level, Cristiano coordinates the curricular unit (u.c.) "Democratic Theories and Institutions", and teaches at the u.c. "State, Democracy and Legal Pluralism". He also teaches the course "Critical Intercultural Dialogue" in the master's degree in Sociology at the UC Faculty of Economics. His publications include books, chapters and articles authored and organized on democratic theory, populism, emotion, narrative, post-colonialism, intercultural dialogue, citizenship and migration.
