O PRAZO PARA APRESENTAÇÃO DE CANDIDATURAS FOI PROLONGADO ATÉ 24 DE ABRIL
Estão abertas as candidaturas para participação na 3ª edição do Laboratório Internacional Linha de Fuga que vai decorrer entre 16 de setembro e 9 de outubro de 2022, em Coimbra/Portugal. «As Éticas do Cuidado» é o tema desta edição para a qual criadores, artistas e pensadores podem candidatar-se aqui até ao dia 24 de abril.

Em 2022, LINHA DE FUGA realiza a terceira edição do Laboratório Internacional que promove o encontro entre criadores, artistas e pensadores de diferentes países, num campo de experimentação, aprendizagem e partilha de conhecimento coletivo. Realiza-se em Coimbra, entre 16 de setembro e 9 de outubro de 2022, através de seminários e oficinas de intercâmbio de práticas artísticas orientadas por artistas convidados, com acesso a espaços de trabalho e aos olhares críticos da curadoria e artistas do festival. Paralelamente ao Laboratório, decorre o Festival Internacional com uma programação de espetáculos, conferências e conversas aos quais os artistas participantes podem assistir gratuitamente e no qual poderão incluir as apresentações dos seus trabalhos em processo.
Perfil Candidato/as
O Laboratório é direcionado a profissionais das artes com um percurso mínimo de criação e sem limite de idade. Procuramos artistas que queiram iniciar, desenvolver e expor os seus processos e interagir com a crítica aos seus trabalhos, tanto pelos seus pares como por parte do público.
Existem ainda nesta convocatória, um a dois lugares para documentadores/arquivistas cujo papel será o de acompanhar todo o Laboratório e as suas práticas a partir de uma perspetiva subjetiva e crítica, com a intenção de devolver à sociedade a sua visão sobre documentar o efémero e as práticas de transmissão de conhecimento desenvolvidas no âmbito artístico.
Metodologia
O Laboratório vai reunir 15 participantes /criadores que se devem apresentar a esta convocatória com um trabalho em processo — que pode estar em diferentes estágios de desenvolvimento —, que deverá considerar o «cuidado» com o outro (entendido como o cuidado com o Comum) enquanto motor de diálogo e que será o seu objeto de investigação durante todo o período do Laboratório. Os candidatos a documentadores deverão considerar como proposta a relevância de arquivar e disseminar eventos desta natureza, efetuar uma proposta considerando igualmente o tema em discussão este ano e estar disponíveis para o desenvolvimento desta documentação/arquivo para lá da data do laboratório (ver resultados das edições anteriores aqui).
Pensado sob a lógica de coletivo efémero temporal, LINHA DE FUGA terá espaços/momentos de trabalho coletivo onde os participantes podem confrontar e trabalhar os seus projetos artísticos em relação com outras práticas e períodos de trabalho individuais, a ser geridos por cada participante (em colaboração com outros participantes, em sessões de feedback individuais com os pares ou no desenvolvimento da sua pesquisa).
Para lá das oficinas e seminários em que participam, os artistas e os seus processos serão acompanhados pela equipa curatorial do Laboratório e Festival, em particular por Thiago Granato, artista e cocurador do Festival que, através do seu conhecimento enquanto criador e pesquisador, estará disponível para acompanhar o desenvolvimento das propostas. Os participantes terão o apoio da curadoria e de alguns olhares de outros artistas convidados do festival.
Toda a nossa atenção e cuidado estão no cultivo de um espaço onde os artistas possam reconhecer e situar as suas próprias obras e práticas num ambiente cada vez mais capaz de sustentar uma cultura em arte crítica e inclusiva.
Tema
Desde o final de 2021, a equipa curatorial decidiu que nesta edição queria repensar as Éticas do Cuidado. Após dois anos em que as palavras mais ouvidas foram COVID-19 e pandemia, onde sofremos com a auto repressão do isolamento social e um espetro de depressão coletiva, terá o cuidado com o outro (entendido como o cuidado com o comum), o potencial radical de facilitar o diálogo, a compreensão e a transformação social? E qual será o papel da arte nesse debate? Num momento em que uma guerra se instalou no nosso quotidiano, consideramos ainda mais importante olhar o outro, com a delicadeza e a simpatia necessárias para gerar menos desequilíbrios neste único planeta que é o nosso.
Ao propor esta discussão, pretendemos chamar a atenção para as situações de vulnerabilidade — pandemias, guerras e tantas outras situações — que existem no mundo e as desigualdades que estas podem provocar nas relações intersociais. Mas também queremos trabalhar a potência criativa de novas formas de existências oriundas do que é invisível, silencioso, ambíguo, frágil, itinerante e desaparecido num mundo em transformação radical.
E é também por isso que neste momento frágil e vulnerável torna-se lógico fazer evoluir esta edição para uma discussão sobre este tema e pensar que, tal como afirma João Maria André, «a vulnerabilidade afeta o ser humano como um todo, tanto na sua dimensão física e corpórea como na sua dimensão psíquica e espiritual». Este filósofo considera ainda que «na dor e nas paixões não há o corpo de um lado e o espírito do outro, mas corpo e espírito são um só e é por isso que se ama também com o corpo e se sofre também com o pensamento, indiciando a existência em nós de uma razão prática, mais do que uma razão pura, em que pensamento e afetividade se interseccionam no corpo que somos e com o qual nos dizemos nas vicissitudes da nossa identidade.»
O Laboratório Internacional de Criação é uma iniciativa de Linha de Fuga – Associação Cultural, com financiamento da Direção Geral das Artes, em parceria com (e a decorrer em) vários espaços e organizações de Coimbra.

Bolsas:

Applications are open to participate in the 3rd edition of the Linha de Fuga International Laboratory. In 2022, Linha de Fuga holds the third edition of the International Laboratory that promotes the meeting between creators, artists and thinkers from different countries, in a field of experimentation, learning and sharing of collective knowledge. It takes place in Coimbra (Portugal), between September 16th and October 9th 2022, through seminars and workshops, for the exchange of practices, coordinated by invited artists, with access to workspaces and the critical assessment of the festival's curators and artists.
In parallel to the Laboratory, it takes place the International Festival, with performances, conferences and talks, in which the participating artists can attend and to which they can also add the presentation of their work in progress.
Candidate Profile
The Laboratory is aimed at arts professionals with a minimum creation path and no age limit. We are looking for artists who want to start, develop, and expose their processes and interact with the criticism of their work, both by their peers and audience.
There are also in this call, one or two vacancies for documenters/archivists whose role will be to follow the entire Laboratory and its practices from a subjective and critical perspective, with the intention to return to society its vision of documenting the ephemeral and the transmission of knowledge developed by artistic practices.
Methodology
The Laboratory brings together 15 participants/creators who must present themselves to this call with a work in process — which may be at different stages of development — that should consider the «care» for the other (understood as the care for the Common Good) as a driving force, and that will be their object of research during the whole Laboratory period. The candidate documenters, should consider as a proposal the relevance of archiving and disseminating events of this nature, making a proposal also considering the topic under discussion this year and be available for the development of this documentation/archive beyond the date of the Laboratory (see the results of last editions here).
Conceived under the logic of a temporal ephemeral collective, Linha de Fuga will have spaces/moments of collective work where participants can confront and work on their artistic projects in relation to other practices; and individual work periods, defined by each participant (in collaboration with other participants, in individual feedback sessions with peers or in the development of their individual research).
In addition to the workshops and seminars, artists will be accompanied by the curatorial team of the Laboratory and Festival, in particular by Thiago Granato, co-curator of the Festival who, through his knowledge as a creator and researcher, will be available in the guidance of each artists investigations and performative practices.
All our attention and care goes into cultivating a space where artists can recognize and locate their own works and practices within an environment that is increasingly capable of sustaining a reflective and inclusive art culture.
Theme
Since the end of 2021, the curatorial team decided that in this edition they wanted to rethink «The Ethics of Care». After two years in which the most heard words were COVID-19 and pandemic, where we suffered from the self-repression of social isolation and a spectrum of collective depression, will the caring for the Other (understood as caring for the Common Good) have the radical potential to facilitate dialogue, understanding and social transformation? And what can be the role of art in this debate? At a time when a war lurks in Europe’s daily lives, we consider this focus even more important, looking at the Other with the tenderness and sympathy necessary to generate less imbalances on this unique planet that is ours.
By proposing this discussion, we intend to draw attention to situations of vulnerability — pandemics, wars and many other situations — that exist in the world, and the inequalities that these can cause in intersocial relationships. We also want to point out the creative power of new forms of existence arising from what is invisible, silent, ambiguous, fragile, itinerant and absent in a world undergoing radical changes.
In a delicate, vulnerable moment such as the one we are going through, barely out of a pandemic and witnessing the invasion of a neighbouring country, it becomes imperative to allow this next edition to evolve into a discussion on this subject and to accept that, as stated by João Maris André, "vulnerability conditions the human being as a whole, in its physical and corporeal dimension, as in its psychic and spiritual one." This philosopher considers that "in pain and passion, body and spirit aren't indissociable, but one and the same, which is why we love with the body and suffer with the mind, thereby suggesting a presence of practical reason - more so than pure reason - within us, in which thought and affectivity intersect in the body that we are and through which we declare ourselves in the vicissitudes of our identity."
The International Creative Laboratory is an initiative by Linha de Fuga – Associação Cultural, funding by Direção Geral das Artes, in partnership with (and taking place in) various spaces and organisations in Coimbra.

Registration for the selected candidates: €250 (includes access to one meal per day throughout the whole laboratory period)
Fellowship: Linha de Fuga has the possibility to offer some grants to selected candidates, when the situation is well justified. In the application form the candidate must justify the reasons for being granted a fellowship.
